Half day riding in the school + afternoon tours of the
region (Option D)
We offer daily, weekend break or fully
inclusive 3 - 7 night holidays for this option.
Mornings
You may wish to relax and simply enjoy one of
our horses in the riding school, take individual lessons or take up one of our riding courses
which we tailor to
your particular objectives. We also offer one-to-one classical riding
instruction. Our goal is for you to
enjoy your riding and if you prefer lessons then we
teach in an easily understood way, including the classical methods that have stood
the test of time. Depending on ability
you can ride quiet horses or more advanced horses. Age or standard (although
not suitable for beginners) of riding is unimportant. We offer
basic classes
to advanced lessons;
lateral work, flying changes, High
School, piaffe, passage, or work-in-hand & on the long rein, one-to one
classical dressage, Doma Vaquera, driving, stallion management,
showing/presentation or even how to train or show a Cobra of mares. You
can choose a combination of these.
Our instructors
are experienced in all the disciplines
available.
The Horses
Predominantly
Purebred Spanish horses, some Portuguese
Lusitanos plus a Tres Sangres and an Anglo
Arabe. Our horses have great spirit, yet are gentle
and intelligent. You may learn as
much from the horses as from the instructors! Our more experienced
horses are capable of elevated movements and High School as well as good
extension and they move with lightness, collection and with excellent balance and
cadence.

Fairly new stable yard situated within a 110
acre vineyard, olive and almond farm. International size arena with sand
and rubber surface. Bar. Shade and sun
terraces overlooking the school and countryside. Toilets/changing rooms. |
Afternoon -
Tours of the Region
A different tour each day which could typically include:
-
Visit a bull ranch.

See the source of the Rio Mundo in the mountains of the Sierra de Alcaraz.

Visit castles and historic buildings.
-
Go on wine routes and visit the ancient towns of Jumilla,
Chinchilla or Lietor.
-
Visit the prehistoric cave art/painting centre
(mornings only) and see some of Europe's most important prehistoric caves and cave
art finds.
-
See the remains of a Visigoth town on the flat
mountain top of Minateda.
-
Explore the little known lakes and rivers of the
surrounding sierras.
You have the opportunity to let us know your preferences on the Booking
Form and we always try to base our tours around individual tastes wherever
possible. During 7 night fully inclusive holidays on
Wednesdays only we leave you free to relax or explore the market town of
Hellin (morning market). In the afternoon you can enjoy a 'Tour of the Region'.
Typical
Itinerary (7 night holiday)
Day one (Saturday) |
We pick you up from
Alicante or St Javier (Murcia) airport, or Albacete or Hellin train
station and take you to your hotel.
Depending on flight arrival
times, you may have time to unpack your bags, freshen up and enjoy a
drink in the hotel’s bar before we collect you and take you to a local
restaurant or to the riding centre for a 'welcome' meal, where you can
meet other riders, relax, or discuss the riding or tours to come..
If
your flight arrives after 18.00 then you may miss this first
meal, but snacks are available at the hotels.

Day two (Sunday) |
After your hotel breakfast we collect you
and take you to the riding centre (approx 12/15 minutes drive) and initially have a ride in our school to get acquainted with the
horses and to ensure we find you a good match. After lunch you can enjoy your first ride out
in the country, or tour of the region if you have booked Option C. |
Evening |
If
there is time after your ride (or tour) you can relax at our centre and bar. In
the evening you have a choice; either we take you out for your evening
meal at
a local restaurant, or maybe at the Centre, or if you prefer we can take
you back to your hotel where we will have organised a choice of meals
for you and of course afterwards you can explore the town of Hellin, visit the bars and clubs or just enjoy a walk in the park. The choice
is yours. |

Days three to seven (Monday to Friday)
Mornings
|
After your hotel breakfast we collect you and take you to the
riding centre to enjoy the
riding activities you have booked, then perhaps watch the other horses or just relax in
our bar area or patios.
Riding in the school can include Doma Classica or
Vaquera, work-in-hand, long-reining, work with the garrocha,
driving, handling
youngstock and/or stallions, depending on demand.
During 7 night all inclusive holidays on Wednesday mornings only we leave you free to
relax or explore the market town of Hellin (morning market) and to get
your own lunch in the town or at the hotel - this is the only meal not
included in your holiday package.

Afternoons
|

cattle ranch, see the source of the Rio Mundo in the mountains of the Sierra de Alcaraz,
visit castles and historic buildings, prehistoric sites and cave paintings, wine routes and town of Jumilla,
visit Castilla La Mancha's 'lake district', see the windmills of La
Mancha etc. You have the opportunity to state your preferences on the Booking

Day eight (Saturday) |
We will collect you at a pre-arranged time (see booking form)
to return you to your airport. Note that on your departure day your 'inclusive'
holiday includes breakfast at your hotel but if your flight is very
early you may miss this. |

WHAT’S INCLUDED . . .

Transfer from Alicante or San Javier (Murcia)
airports, or Albacete or Hellin rail station, to your hotel & return.

Excellent hotel accommodation
(just 15 minutes from the Centre) plus breakfast.

Transport to and from your hotel and the riding centre.

All evening and mid-day meals (except
Wednesday lunch if you are on a '7 night inclusive' holiday),
including drinks with meals (beer/wine/soft drinks).

Your choice of riding activity (Options A,
B, C, D, E or Classical Riding), or combined riding/tours.

Enjoy the facilities at the Centre (bar, sun and shade
terraces etc), watch any riders in the school, enjoy walks, or explore the town of Hellin, swim at the pool in our
local village of Tobarra (July and August), or simply relax at the
centre.
Prices do not include flights as this allows you to get the best prices
from the many airlines servicing your choice of the two airports. Or from
Madrid take the 2½ hour express
train to Albacete, where we can collect you.

excellent hotel in the market town of Hellin, approximately 15 minutes
drive from the riding centre. We ensure you have an enjoyable holiday,
good food, drink and surroundings and with well trained horses, but we
put your accommodation in the expert hands of one of Hellin's most caring and
hospitable hoteliers, who have been looking after our guests for the
last 9 years.

Excellent modern 3 star (the '1st
Class' rooms are actually 4 star) hotel in Hellin
approximately 8 minutes
walk from the town centre.
We offer you a choice of two room types
to suit your budget:
'1st Class' rooms are in the new part
of the hotel and are spacious and modern,
en-suite & air conditioned. TV/satellite. Internet connection (card available at reception). Mini-Bar and room safe.
'Traditional' rooms are a little smaller
with more traditional furnishings. They are en-suite and have the
same facilities as the '1st Class' rooms except they do not have a
mini-bar or a room
safe.
This is an excellent hotel with breakfast room,
bar/café, restaurant. A modern/traditional Spanish bar and restaurant.
Without exception our guests have enthused about this hotel, service
and the friendly nature of its staff.
