All Day Riding in the Country
(Option A)
Hourly, daily
or 3 to 7 night fully inclusive holidays riding in the country. Trail rides in the fabulous
and varied countryside.
Riding for the intermediate or experienced rider.
Each day the ride follows a
completely different route, with different scenery and terrain, stopping
for lunch at a remote village
bar, or for a picnic out in the country or maybe back at the
centre, depending on the length of ride. Expect at least 4 to 6 hours
in the saddle, varied according to rider's preferences. We can take keen and competent riders
on longer trails, with more hours in the saddle. Pace is set to suit our riders - there are miles of
canters, or we can walk, or explore off track over the mountains,
through pine woods etc.
You will ride on ancient tracks through spectacular
scenery, often teeming with butterflies and birdlife (look out for
eagles, hoopoes, bee-eaters) and rich in wildflowers during the spring,
on mountain trails, through pine woods, time-worn arroyos, through vineyards, olive, almond
and apricot groves and from the tops of our small mountains enjoy huge views to the wide horizon
. . . No roads, no barriers, no fences.

Riders need to be able to control their horses outside at all paces and
for the enjoyment of other
riders this
option is not suitable for beginners or most children of less than 12 years.
However if there is a complete group of less
experienced riders then we can provide quieter horses and make up a ride
accordingly.
Wednesday mornings, on 7 day inclusive holidays only, we leave you free to relax or explore the market
town of Hellin (morning market). Wednesday afternoon we take you out
again riding in the country.

The Horses
You will ride
Purebred Spanish horses, Portuguese Lusitanos
and we have a Tres Sangres and an Anglo Arabe. Our horses have great 'spirit',
yet are gentle and intelligent. You may learn as much from the horses as
from the instructors! Our more experienced horses are capable of
elevated movements and High School work as well as good extension and
they move with lightness, collection and with excellent balance and
cadence. We are perhaps unique in being able to offer
experienced sensitive riders the opportunity to ride some of these
horses out in the country.

We offer
'day' rates for riders with their
own transport etc or fully inclusive short breaks or 7 night holidays.
Typical itinerary for a 7 night fully inclusive holiday:
Day one (Saturday) |
We pick you up from
Alicante or St Javier (Murcia) airport, or Albacete or Hellin train
station and take you to your hotel.
Depending on flight arrival
times, you may have time to unpack your bags, freshen up and enjoy a
drink in the hotel’s bar before we collect you and take you to a local
restaurant or to the riding centre for a 'welcome' meal, where you can
meet other riders, relax, or discuss the riding or tours to come..
If
your flight arrives after 18.00 then you may miss this first
meal, but snacks are available at the hotels.
|
Day two (Sunday) |
After your hotel breakfast we collect you
and take you to the riding centre (approx 12/15 minutes drive) and initially have a ride in our school to get acquainted with the
horses and to ensure we find you a good match. After lunch you can enjoy your first ride out
in the country, or tour of the region if you have booked Option C. |
Evening |
If
there is time after your ride (or tour) you can relax at our centre and bar. In
the evening you have a choice; either we take you out for your evening
meal at
a local restaurant, or maybe at the Centre, or if you prefer we can take
you back to your hotel where we will have organised a choice of meals
for you and of course afterwards you can explore the town of Hellin, visit the bars and clubs or just enjoy a walk in the park. The choice
is yours. |
